havey's party

one day shy of a month after the party and i finally am getting havey's birthday party post up! can you say "slacker"? so here it is, the sweet girl's sweet little party. for being such a messy girl (i call her "the destroyer"), you'd think she'd have jumped right into her cake, but it took a little coaxing from dad to get her to touch it. although once she got the hang of it she managed to destroy half of it. thanks to jessie for the great photos! it was nice to enjoy the party instead of being worried about taking the pictures myself.

* i don't know why that last collage is looking pixelated, but if you click on it it looks normal. i quit.

Wow Liz! Were you exhausted by the time the party was over? Everything turned out so cute!

Hi! She is so incredibly cute & I love the pics! To try and fix the pixelation, in the code after the width & height ... change the s400 to s1600 - hope that helps! Also - I found that I had to change my width & height to exactly what I had saved it as to make it look best.

Her scrunchie face is the best. Sage still refuses to do it and shakes her head at me when I try.

The pics are beautiful and the goodies look fantastic! Want to do it all again next week for Sage's birthday when I come to town?

SO cute! You throw the most amazing shin-digs :) You can expect one million questions and stolen ideas from me when I get to throw birthday parties for my kids!

ahh bear-i already adjusted the code to match the size of the file i created. it's so weird, i've never had this happen-any other ideas?

When I look at the "view source" in explorer - I see this as part of your code for the pics:

width: 575px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_LH7N411eLhk/SkUL_GK--jI/AAAAAAAAEhU/kX-yY-vvZ8o/s400

That very last part - s400 - needs to be increased to s1600 (just change the 4 to 16) - I don't know why it fixes the pixel problems but it did with my pics on blogspot!

ahh bear-i was all excited to hop in and fix it, but the code when you look at it in my blog already says s1600. so weird. thanks for your help, anyway.

Okay - one last try ... LOL - If I seem persistant it's because I had the same problem with my blog photos and couldn't rest until I found the answer because I wanted them to be clear!

There are 2 s#00's in the code - the one before the height & width of each photo is always s1600, the one after it is the s400 that needs to be changed. The code from your page is still showing that as s400 (but perhaps it hasn't updated with your changes).

The other thing I saw in the code is that your final collage has a height of 800 and blogger will only allow up to 700 per side so it's automatically smooshing it some for you and b/c it's not at the saved size - that may be causing the pixelation.

Maybe one of those will help but regardless - your daughter is so cute and the pictures are fantastic!

ahh bear-you're right! the second one still says 400, but when i changed it to 1600 the picture disappeared! so i think the key is the 700 pixel limit-i had no idea! now i know-thanks for your persistence!

Raffi it is, haha:) We used to listen to him when we were younger too. Not to bad for kids songs.

Haven is looking so old! The picture on the top of her scrunching her face . . . she looks like shes so much older then she is. So cute! I love all your pictures. You kids are so dang cute!!!

now that i looked over at Emilie's comment, i think thats part of it. The earings! Were they just stick ons?

{lizzythebotanist} said...

aub bob-yeah, they're stick-ons. i wish i would have pierced her ears when she was a tiny, but it's too late now-she'd tug at them and rip them out of her ears. so we'll have to wait till she wants them...until them it's all about stickers!
