soccer

nash had his first soccer game on saturday! i was worried about how the game would go since he missed his first two practices, but he caught on pretty quickly. probably because he has such a great dad. steve has been practicing with him at the park explaining how the game works. otherwise i'm sure he'd have been scoring goals for the other team. he still had a few issues like fighting for the ball when his own teammate had it, complaining that everyone else was so fast (even though the other team was comprised of 3-year-olds), and when it was his turn for the kick-off he kicked too high, sort of slid over and then fell on top of the ball (which was hilarious). but then he scored a goal and made up for it + gained some confidence! he was pretty proud of himself. so proud that he keeps asking me if he can earn prizes for being good at soccer. he got a new soccer ball and sack pack for the bowling game today and thinks that it was directly related to him scoring a goal. i think he should feel pretty great just for making his mama so proud ;) although he does need some cleats...see those rainbow shoes? that's how i spotted him on the field!

in other news: bevie got a great job offer here in las begas!!! we've got a few weeks to mull it over and see what other offers might come his way, but it's such a relief to know that we'll be employed once his clerkship is over. (because i know some are wondering how we feel about staying here: las vegas has been surprisingly great so far and we're totally fine with the idea of being here for a while.)

i'm so proud of my dudes!

update: make that two offers! another one came this morning!

It is so fun to see children growing up and learning. Your little guy Nash is so cute. I am excited that you at least have a job offer very exiting. As for living in Vegas. When Dugan and I lived there I actually really enjoyed it too.
